Insurance Disputes
Insurance companies have a heightened duty to insureds in Colorado. Because we rely on insurance companies to be there for us and to protect our financial stability in times of stress and loss, Colorado laws and courts require insurance companies to act in good faith to protect you, not just the insurance companies' bottom lines. If you are insured, you should expect two basic duties from your insurance company. First, even if there is a legitimate argument the insurance company should provide a defense for any action against you. Second, if the specific coverage you have purchased protects against a claim being made then the insurance company should pay an appropriate amount, up to the amount of insurance purchased, to protect you. Despite the fact this should happen, it doesn't always happen.
OSO has prepared and tried cases against insurance companies in state courts, federal courts and the Colorado Supreme Court. We are capable and ready to assist you with any disagreement or insurance issue.
